Bragging rights have been doled out to age group teams that top each of Ironman’s five TriClub divisions as its 2024 World Championship winners are announced. Divisions are determined by the membership size of each club.

Team Zoot takes the top spot in division one.  At the top of the podium for division two is Team Mauna. Tower 26 claims the title in division three. Team Every Man Jack earned its bragging rights for division four, and the winner of division five is Top Gunz Tri Team.

A group effort by amazing age groupers

“A massive shoutout to every and all #teamzoot members making Team Zoot not only the best team in triathlon  but the #1 team as well. Kudos to everyone,” wrote Zoot Sports on social media.

The breakdown of division begins with teams of over 200 in division one. Division two includes teams with 126-199 athletes, followed by division three with 76-125, division four with 26-75, and division five for teams with less than 25 athletes.

Division two winners TriClub World Champions, Team Mauna, also did a shout out to its members on social media. “Congratulations Team! We are so proud of each and every athlete that contributed to achieving this milestone!”

A positive change for California club

California based Tower 26 is currently facing challenges with the wildfires burning on home turf. It’s a positive bit of news for a club facing uncertain times.

“It’s been a week where good news is a welcome sight,” the organization wrote on Instagram. “Congratulations to all of our teammates who made this happen. That team spirit is more important than ever right now.”

Division five champs, Top Gunz Tri Team came out swinging in their first attempt. “TopGunz takes first in our inaugural year. We’re pumped,” organizers wrote on their Instagram story.

TriClub Global Rankings are determined based on the number of points earned by affiliated team members each time they line up to race an Ironman, 70.3 or 5150 event. The more times an athlete toes the line the more points they earn for their team.

Friends with benefits

TriClubs are also recognized throughout the year with on-site podium honors for the top five overall clubs at each race. A TriClub Village at races offers the perk of having a meeting place for club members and their fans. A free, dedicated expo booth is reserved at races for the top two local clubs participating.

Besides being part of a community of like-minded athletes, team members receive benefits from Ironman with priority registration, global rankings and club bike racking.

Through priority registration, members can sign up for races before the general public. Clubs can also earn a free race entry for every 10 members that sign up for a full Ironman, and a free entry into a 70.3 race for every 20 athletes they have registered.

Two VIP passes are awarded to each of the top four clubs with the highest number of affiliated members. The extra special treatment for spectators includes a hospitality suite and dedicated viewing areas.

Being part of an official club has its racing benefits through Ironman, and its accolades with the TriClub World Championships, but it’s the camaraderie shared amongst team members that shines through more than the glittering medals and podium awards.
