Estonia’s Rait Ratasepp averaged under 11 hours – a time most Ironman competitors would be thrilled to achieve – for 60 straight days as he set a new record for 60 full-distance triathlons in 60 consecutive days. His total time for 228 km of swimming, 10,800 km of cycling and 2,532 km of running was 657:40:08.

Estonian triathlete looks to set new consecutive full-distance record

For 60 days in a row Ratasepp did a 3.8 km swim in the 50 m pool at Playitas resort, and followed that tup with a challenging 180 km bike and a 42.2 km run through the challenging terrain found on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura that saw him climb almost 1,800 m on the bike and just under 300 m of climbing on the run. His average time for each full-distance tri was 10:57:40 and his average marathon time was 3:14:39.

You can find more details on his effort here.

Ratasepp’s record effort didn’t come without challenges – he was hit by a car on the 14th day of his 60-day challenge and would lose lots of time as he raced on a rental bike while waiting for his regular bike to be replaced.
