Paula Findlay takes 18th at World Cycling Championships Individual Time Trial
Canadian triathlon star improves on her world cycling championship finish from last year

Canadian Triathlete Paula Findlay (pictured above racing in Mont-Tremblant in June – see story below) continues to improve her time trial record, besting her performance at last year’s world championships in Scotland (she finished 25th) with an 18th place in the individual time trial. It was just her fifth time trial.

The race was won by Grace Brown of Australia, who was joined on the podium by Demi Vollering of the Netherlands in second, and Chloé Dygert of the United States, who finished third.
The Canadian finished 3.09 behind the winner with an average speed of 42.290 km/h. Olivia Baril of Quebec was the other Canadian competing in the race, finishing in 30th place. The 26-year-old races for Movistar and finished 40 seconds behind Findlay.
In late June Findlay secured her third Canadian ITT championships ahead of Baril and Sarah van Dam. While the win in June didn’t get Findlay a spot on the Olympic team, she was asked to compete for Canada once again at the world championships.
Two days after the race in June, Findlay won Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant, an impressive double.
Findlay, who finished second at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2022, is amongst the top-ranked athletes in the T100 World Triathlon Tour and won Challenge Beijing just two weeks ago. She’ll continue to rack up frequent flyer points as she travels to Ibiza for the T100 race there next weekend.
