No Drafting at Ironman Texas 2019

Daniel Clarke was at Ironman Texas and observed no pack riding or blatant drafting. Why was this the case in 2019 and not 2018?

The story from Ironman Texas in 2018 was drafting – big packs on the highway, records smashed and social media outrage. Ironman Texas 2019 was held on the same course, but drafting was a non-issue. Why did this happen? On the bike, I spectated from three different locations and didn’t see any pack riding or blatant drafting. I’d love to hear from the athletes racing why they think this year’s race didn’t have the same issues as 2018.
