A large Canadian contingent will be racing this Sunday at the CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon Cup in Richmond, Virginia. Topping the men’s elite field is Canadian Taylor Forbes. Forbes started his season in March with two back-to-back fifth places at CAMTRI events, Clermont and Saratosa. He will be joined by four other Canadians ranked inside the top 10; Charles Paquet, Alexis Lepage, Jeremy Briand and Edouard Garneau. Worth noting, Alexis Lepage is coming off of a respectable thirteenth at the Commonwealth Games in April. As well as, two podium finishes (silver) at Clermont and Saratosa. Come Sunday, he will be looking to reach the top step of the podium.

?: @cgc_jcc . . . #competition #competitionday #racing #racingday #qld #wearegoldcoast #queensland #goldcoast #triathlon #triathlonlife #triathlon_world #triathlon_in_the_world #triathlonlifestyle #gocanada #equipecanada #canadianathlete #pushinglimits #workinghard #athletelife

In the women’s field, Elisabeth Boutin and Kyla Roy rank inside the top ten. Both will be looking to get into the groove of racing following a winter of training. The remainder of the Canadian team contains a bunch of young teenage talent.

Also this weekend is the ITU World Cup in Chengdu, China. Although there will be no big name stars, there is a wealth of young talent ready to compete.

The next WTS event is over the May 12/13th weeknd in Yokohama, Japan. All the big names will be competing, including Canadians Tyler Mislawchuk, Dominika Jamincky, Amelie Kretz and Matthew Sharpe.
