Ironman and Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant are back!

Popular events at Quebec ski resort return to 2022 Ironman schedule

Earlier this year we reported that the future of Ironman events in Mont-Tremblant, one of the most popular Ironman venues in the world, was unclear after the events were “cancelled” (a word Ironman is reluctant to use) for 2021 and athletes wouldn’t have the opportunity to defer their entries to 2022. At the time Ironman officials said that they were “working diligently on all potential future year options …” which meant that the 2022 races at the Quebec ski resort were not confirmed.

The latest contract between Ironman and the city was to expire this year, and, based on the fact that Ironman wasn’t offering the option to defer entries to the events in 2022, it appeared that there were issues renewing the contract. Again, all we got from Ironman at the time was that “the team is working diligently with the host venue on future year options.”

Ironman events in Mont-Tremblant “cannot happen in 2021” – no options to defer to 2022 races

It would appear that things have finally been settled. An email sent out to athletes yesterday confirmed that Ironman racing will in fact be returning to Mont-Tremblant next year. Priority registration for the three Ironman events that take place at the popular Tremblant resort opens today (Dec. 8) at 12 pm. General registration will open on Monday, Dec. 13 at 12 pm.

Here are the dates for the three races in 2022:

  • Subaru Ironman Mont-Tremblant | August 21, 2022
  • Subaru Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant ► | June 19, 2022
  • Subaru 5i50 Mont-Tremblant ► | June 18, 2022

There’s been no release on a new contract between the resort and Ironman to date.
