The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has just announced that it’s reached a deal with CBC to stream the event live on the CBC Sports digital platforms – cbcsports.ca, the CBC Sports app and on CBC Gem.

The Collins Cup takes place on Saturday at the x-bionicsphere in Samorin, Slovakia. The race format is modelled after golf’s Ryder Cup, with teams of 12 athletes (six women and six men) competing against each other. There are three teams – International, US and Europe. Canada has three athletes competing – Lionel Sanders, Jackson Laundry and Paula Findlay. Olympic gold medalist Simon Whitfield and 11-time Ironman champion Lisa Bentley (pictured above) are also involved in the event as team captains for the International squad.

You can see the race match list here.

According to a releas from the PTO:

The deal sees the entire Collins Cup live streamed on CBC Sports digital platforms as well as an hour-long highlights programme of the race action from The Collins Cup available on CBC Gem. CBC Gem will also stream the PTO’s two-part Beyond Human documentary produced by Noah Media Group, which follows the journeys of three of the biggest names in the sport – Lionel Sanders (Team Internationals), Sebastien Kienle (Team Europe) and Heather Jackson (Team US) in their quest to see who rules triathlon.
