2021 Sprint and relay world championships dates set

Races in Bermuda to take place from October 15 to 17

World Triathlon has confirmed the dates for the second part of next year’s split world championship races – the World Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships will take place in Bermuda between October 15 and 17, 2021. Earlier this year World Triathlon announced that Edmonton would be hosting the standard distance and the 2021 Grand Final, which will take place between August 17 and 21.

Next year will be the first time World Triathlon has split the Grand Final program. The Paratriathlon World Championships will be hosted prior to the Olympic Games in Milan, Italy on May 8.

The events in Bermuda will include the elite super-sprint world championships, the junior world championships, the age-group sprint world championships and the Mixed Relay World Championships for all categories.

According to a release from World Triathlon, the Sprint and Relay Championships are expected to attract 4,000 competitors, officials, family and friends to the small island in the Atlantic.

There won’t be any qualifying events for the Canadian team for next year’s race – athletes who had qualified for this year’s Grand Final will automatically be selected to next year’s event.
