Belgium’s Jelle Geens is awarded the final spot on the 2025 T100 Triathlon World Tour. This recent victory comes on the heels of his surprise win over Hayden Wilde at the 2024 Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Taupo, New Zealand in December.

He has a long-storied history of racing but was not the favourite to win in New Zealand. He overtook favourite Hayden Wilde in the last three kilometres of the race on Wilde’s home turf.

Geens competed in one T100 series race last year in Vegas, taking the win. His official series spot guarantees him a start line at all seven race location announced so far this year.

Geens to face off against countryman Van Riel

The recent announcement along with his Ironman 70.3 World Championship title has thrust him into the spotlight. His addition to the series adds to an exciting line up and a potential battle between him and fellow countryman Marten Van Riel who won the series last year.

Geens is currently ranked fourth after competing as a Wild Card last year. Wild Cards are athletes that do not have a series contract but who are given entry into specific races. Winning the 2024 Vegas race had him finish in the top five.

On the race circuit to date are Singapore, the French Riviera, San Francisco, London, Ibiza, Las Vegas and Dubai. More race announcements are expected to fill the series calendar.

Geens is a three time Olympian having competed in Rio, Tokyo and Paris and a veteran of the World Triathlon Championship Series with multiple wins. He also has several podium finishes in the Ironman Pro Series.

Series kicks off in spring

With the ink drying on his contract, that completes the roster of pros named to the T100 series. The athletes gained entry to the series by either being offered a contract based on their Professional Triathlon Organization ranking from the previous year, or by being name a Hot Shot.

The T100 series kicks off in Singapore April 5-6. New to the series is the French Riviera held in Frejus-Saint-Raphael, June 27-29.
