Cody Beals recaps his first Ironman VR appearance

We've got a highlight video and data details from Cody Beals' Ironman VR3 Pro Challenge.

Two-time Ironman Mont-Tremblant champion had a good day in his first Ironman VR Pro Challenge.

Beals ended up third overall in the race won by Sweden’s Jesper Svensson.

Here’s how Beals recapped the day: “I like that the emphasis of this series is on engagement and participation, with the competitive aspect being secondary. I enjoyed my first VR race experience, despite some technical difficulties. I’m pleased with this fitness benchmark coming off some downtime.”

The race included two 20 km time trial efforts – the first a mass start, with the second round using a pursuit format.

Beals went 28:01 for the first 20 km effort, averaging 350 watts. He went 27:53 in the second 20 km time trial, averaging 355 watts.

He won two primes – one for the most consistent splits and the other for coming across the line first in the pursuit.
