Can Patrick Lange go under 2:30 at Challenge Roth on Sunday?
The sport's fastest marathon runner is looking to set yet another record at Challenge Roth this year
Photo by: Kevin MackinnonHe’s a two-time Ironman world champion, along with second- and third-place finishes as well. During his incredible long-distance career, Patrick Lange has run 10 sub-2:40 marathons in full-distance triathlons, including multiple 2:35s and 2:30s. So, it is only fitting that Patrick’s goal is to run sub-2:30 here at Roth on Sunday.
Patrick Lange’s key to staying at the top: the enjoyment is back
Bob Babbitt caught up with Lange during his Breakfast with Bob Challenge Roth Edition 2024 show today. Last year Lange’s 2:30:27 split and 7:30:04 finish in Roth was enough to net him the runner-up finish behind Magnus Detlev’s record-setting 7:24:40. Since winning the race in 2021, Lange has finished  second in the last two editions. Can he return to the top of the podium to give the Bavarian crowd a German champion?
