XTERRA Guam Triathlon Results

Notch up another win for Ben Allen and Jacqui Slack.

The boyfriend/girlfriend couple of Ben Allen (AUS) and Jacqui Slack (GBR) won XTERRA Saipan a few weeks ago and took another win again today at XTERRA Guam.

Allen led the 1.5 km swim (19:06), biked 31 km a few seconds slower (1:24:33) than South Africa’s Dan Hugo (1:24:29 – top split of the day) which allowed him to catch up to Allen, but once on the 8.2 km run, Allen hit the trails faster than anyone (39:22) to separate himself from the rest of the field to grab the XTERRA Guam title in 2:23:01. Hugo secured second (2:26:48), and Bradley Weiss (RSA) finished third (2:36:06) to complete the top three – an exact duplication of the top three from XTERRA Saipan.

Like Allen, Slack led the swim (21:22), rode 1:41:39 to stay ahead of a hard chasing Renata Bucher (1:40:44) from Switzerland, but once on her own two feet, Slack posted the top run (49:43) to comfortably cross the finish line as the first woman in 2:52:44. Bucher took second (2:55:35) to move up one spot from Saipan, and Carina Wasle of Austria finished third (3:01:05).
