WTS kicks off March 7 in Abu Dhabi

The ITU WTS gets underway this weekend in Abu Dhabi. On March 7 Kyle Jones, Andrew Yorke, Kirsten Sweetland and Ellen Pennock will represent Canada and line up for a sprint distance race alongside the top names in the sport including Jonathan Brownlee, Javier Gomez, Gwen Jorgenson, Jodie Stimpson and Emma Moffatt. This will be the first time the series takes part in the Middle East and begins the 10 city tour around the world culminating in the Grand Final in Chicago September 15 through 20. While Abu Dhabi is the first sprint event of the year, there will be three more sprint distances in 2015 in London, Hamburg and Edmonton along with six Olympic distance races.

Be sure to catch the action live at Triathlonlive. The Abu Dhabi race kicks off an exciting year of racing including both the first ever European Games taking place on June 13 to 14 which is a European Olympic qualifier and the Pan American Games which gets underway in Toronto from July 12 to 13.
