Whirlpool Ironman 70.3 Steelhead Results

Cotter and Williamson win, Gervais 4th.

American’s James Cotter and Kelly Williamson both led wire to wire today to earn their wins at the Whirlpool Ironman 70.3 Steelhead in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

They both maintained their leads during the bike, but used race best half marathons to solidify their holds on first place, and their first titles at Steelhead 70.3. Cotter ran 1:16:01 and Williamson ran 1:23:43.

Cotter finished with a time of 3:53:19, 1:21 ahead of Rix (3:54:40). Williamson finished in 4:15:41, ahead of Jackson (4:18:51). Quebec’s Annie Gervais ran the second fastest women’s half marathon (1:24:07) and finished 4th (4:29:26). Cotter and Williamson both set the new course records, lowering the times posted by Andy Potts and Samantha Warriner last year.
