Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race

Team Helly Hansen-Prunesco leads. Canadians hanging tough.

The UK team of Helly Hansen-Prunesco paddled into the waters of the Beagle Channel this morning and in the current conditions it is expected to take them around eight hours to complete the 46 km paddle from the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego to Wailua Bay, on the Isla Navarino. From there they will have to climb Mount King Scott during a trek of 35 km to the finish line.

The lone team from Canada, Untamed New England, consisting of Andrew Cameron, James Galipeau, Harper Forbes, and Denise Rispolie, is still going strong and was in fifth place at the time of this report.

Teams have until Wednesday February 17 to make all checkpoints and finish the race.
