TriStar111 Monaco Preview

Race goes Sunday.

Monte Carlo will host on Sunday a new edition of the TriStar111 Monaco, with nearly 1,000 triathletes gathered around a fun race in one of the most glamorous and exclusive destinations of the world. After the TriStar Minnesota last weekend and before coming to TriStar Split, the TriStar world series makes a stop in the Principality of Monaco, where you will have the opportunity see many familiar faces at the start-line.

The course passes through well-known places connected with the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco and to make the Formula 1 feel even more intensive, some of the drivers will join other athletes and participate in the race: Lucas Di Grassi, Bruno Senna, Alex Wurz… and so will do pilots from other categories and disciplines, (Alberto Valerio, Marco Mapelli, Ralph Firman, Harold Primat…). And beware, the list is not closed yet, others may join before Sunday!

The mythical Rascasse curve, the steep climb to Montée d’Ostende, the spectacular Tunnel du Fairmont,the start at the Port… These are some of the scenarios of the TriStar111 Monaco (1km swimming, 100km biking and 10km running) shared by popular athletes and VIPs. Actor Paul Belmondo, French skier Vanessa Vidal, the myth of athletics Wilson Kipketer, active and retired cyclists Peter Luttenberger, Peter Wrolich, Fabrice Gougot, Maja Adamsen, Richie Porte, Baden Cook, Nick Gate, Bernhard Eisel, Yauheni Hutarovich… These are some of those who participated last year and confirmed their participation on this Sunday.

As for the professional triathletes expected to fight for victory, there will be the Swiss champion Olivier Marceau (TriStar111 Monaco 2010 winner as well as winner of TriStar111 Mallorca 2011 where he succeeded in beating Chris McCormack and Marcel Zamora),German athletes Lothar Leder (first triathlete under 8 hours in Ironman) and Thomas Hellriegel; Joel Jameson from Great Britain, Ain-Alar Juhanson from Estonia and female athletes Nicole Leder, Eimear Mullan, Coralie Lemaire and Adeline Rausis.
