Triathlon Ontario Draft Legal Champs Crowned

Triathlon Ontario crowned U23 elites Dominika Jamnicky and Taylor Forbes the draft-legal provincial champions on Saturday. With it’s aim to develop draft legal race options in Canada and to provide the next generation of elites with opportunities to develop their skills, Triathlon Ontario hosted the championship as part of the National Capital Triathlon in Ottawa today. The event  saw six provincial titles earned today over the 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run  format in the U23 Elite, Junior Provincial and U15 categories.

 

Jamnicky, who won the PATCO Pan Am Cup in Toronto on July 12, dominated the race today in 1:05:57 followed by Megan Lamers in 1:09:41 and Catherine Desmarais in third in 1:10:21. On the men’s side brothers Taylor and Austin Forbes went one and two in 57:45 and 58:00 respectively. John Rasmussen was third in 59:17.
