Aussie Tim Wilson brings international, entrepreneurial experience to lead organization to 2016 and beyond

Entrepreneur and seasoned sports administrator Tim Wilson steps into the role of Triathlon Canada’s new Chief Executive Officer. Wilson’s hiring is part Triathlon Canada’s rebuilding process following  the 2012 Summer Olympics. In addition to a successful business management career, Wilson has held numerous leadership positions within triathlon in his native Australia, including as National Executive Director of Triathlon Australia, and most recently he was the head of Triathlon Alberta.

“Tim encompasses all of the skills we believe the leader of our organization should strive to achieve,” said Luc Landriault, president, Triathlon Canada. “He is a proven performer working in a high-performance environment with athletes and coaches under the most intense pressure, where he has developed and successfully executed strategic plans designed to win medals. He will be a valuable addition to our team.”

Wilson is ready to role out his agenda of achievement insisting, “Triathlon Canada is at a very exciting stage of development; we have a new high-performance and sport-development staff, some electrifying young talent emerging, strong grassroots growth, and a steady range of quality events.” He also noted that  Canada will step into the spotlight this summer with the World Triathlon Series’ Grand Final event taking place in Edmonton.
