Tisseyre second in Georgia

Kriat and Meyers take the wins.

Victoria’s Magali Tisseyre finished just behind Tulsa’s Jessica Meyers today at Ironman 70.3 Augusta. Both engaged in a head to head battle but quicker transitions and a slightly better women’s best run (1:23:21) by Meyers made all the difference to give her the win in 4:15:31. Tisseyre chased hard but ended up second (4:16:33), while Austin’s Desiree Ficker rode the top bike split (2:26:28) to get third (4:19:21).

Maxim Kriat (UKR), second at Ironman 70.3 Syracuse last weekend, stepped up one place higher on the podium today after a hard fought duel with Richie Cunningham of Australia. Sticking within seconds of each other all day, Kriat ran a mere 12 seconds faster to take the overall win (3:46:54) ahead of Cunningham (3:47:12). Victor Zyemtsev (UKR) ran his way into third (3:47:36) with the top half marathon of 1:12:53. Orillia’s Brent Poulsen made up ground during the run (1:19:04) to grab 11th spot (3:57:34).
