Tisseyre and McMahon are ready for the chase

The inaugural Saskatoon Triathlon goes Sunday June 30.

The inaugural Subaru Saskatoon Triathlon is set to go tomorrow morning in Saskatoon, and it will be the biggest triathlon event the province of Saskatchewan has even seen.

The professional race features the Chase Format where tomorrow the women will get a 12:3o head start. Race favourites Magali Tisseyre and Brent McMahon both finished second at Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant last weekend and look forward to challenging each other to take top spot tomorrow.

We caught with both athletes just before they left the race site this afternoon.

Here is tomorrow’s race agenda:

Sunday

5:45am: Transition 2 (“T2”) Opens (River Landing)

Run gear drop at dedicated bike racks (T2) before going to T1 (Pike Lake)

Athletes MUST leave their run gear at T2

6:00am – 7:45am: Bus Shuttle (T2 – River Landing to T1 – Pike Lake)

6:45am: T1 opens (Pike Lake)

9:00am-2:00pm: Sport and Lifestyle Expo Opens (River Landing)

Post-race food served at River Landing

1:00pm: Olympic and Sprint Awards Ceremony

7:47 am: Olympic Wave 1 – Pro Women + U30 Women

*Chase differential – 12 minutes and 30 seconds

8:00am: Olympic Wave 2 – Pro Men + U30 Men

8:35am: Olympic Wave 3 – Age Group Men 30-39 + Relays

8:38am: Olympic Wave 4 – Age Group Men 40+

8:41am: Olympic Wave 5 – Age Group Women

9:20am: Sprint Wave 1 – Men

9:23am: Sprint Wave 2 – Women U40

9:26am: Sprint Wave 3 – Women 40+ and Relays
