The Sixth Sooke Triathlon goes August 12

Tara Costa of Biggest Loser fame to participate and give a motivational talk.

The chance to see the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island was enough to convince The Biggest Loser season seven finalist Tara Costa to participate in the 6th annual Subaru Sooke Triathlon, happening this year on Sunday August 12.

The popular former contestant on the weight loss reality show, who lost 155 pounds during the 18 weeks she spent on The Biggest Loser campus, has since completed several Sprint, Olympic and Half-Iron distance triathlons, including the 2011 Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI. When invited to participate in the Sooke event, Costa jumped at the chance to experience Vancouver Island’s west coast as a destination race participant.

Costa will participate in either the Olympic or Sprint distance at the event, and will give a motivational talk the day before the race in Sooke. Costa continues to inspire others on their own weight-loss journey by leading by example and through her non-profit organization, the Inspire Change Foundation.
