The Muskoka Grind Off Road Tri, Du and Run
Sunday August 5, at Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve (Huntsville, ON)
Ever since their first race, ‘Mine’ Over Matter at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton Ontario, Element Racing have been searching for a great location to bring a second genuine off-road triathlon to Ontario. In order to live up to the incredible beauty and mystery that the Kelso Quarry provides, they would have to go somewhere very special. They found it:Â Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve.
About the Date (the August Long Weekend):
Working with Tri Muskoka, Element Racing wanted to make ‘The Grind’ a destination race in true Canadian long-weekend style. Tri Muskoka will have a directory of accommodation choices on their website. The hope is that ‘The Grind’ will work itself into participant’s long weekend plans as they cottage, camp, and explore the outdoors. Those wanting accommodations are encouraged to book early, as this will be a popular weekend in cottage country regardless of the race.
About the Location and Course:
“Limberlost Forest is a gem! The feeling I kept getting when scouting this location is that participants are going to feel like they are on a journey. Each section within the trail system seems to have its own unique identity. You will travel from trails, which follow the contour of lakes, to sections that send you deep into the forest. Different from ‘Mine’ Over Matter, which is fast and flowing, ‘The Grind’ is varied terrain that will keep you guessing and wondering what is around the next bend.
