The Beast Awaits in St. Croix

Naeth, Carfrae, Morrison, and Cunningham among others.

Another edition of this classic race, Ironman 70.3 St. Croix, which features the infamous “The Beast” climb (a 600-foot climb with an average grade of 14 percent and a maximum grade of 21 percent), is set to go this Sunday May 1st.

The who’s who of triathlon have won this race in various incarnations and distances since 1988, and another stellar field of professionals and age groupers have assembled once again to claim prize money, 40 Ironman 70.3 World Championship Spots, and 28 Ironman Hawaii World championship Spots. Yes, it is one of the few 70.3 races that offer qualifying spots to the big show in Kona.

Ironman.com will have live timing.
