Terenzo Bozzone and Mary Beth Ellis win Ironman 70.3 Florida

New Zealand’s Terenzo Bozzone battled hard to earn the Ironman 70.3 Florida title today. After completing the swim in third (23:43), Bozzone rode 2:04:04 to finish the bike in first – just one second ahead of Luxembourg’s Dirk Bockel. Bozzone then threw down the top run of the day (1:14:40) to claim the win in 3:45:51. Calgary’s Grant Burwash finished 11th (4:06:13).

Instead of defending her Ironman Texas title, American Mary Beth Ellis made the journey to Haines City and where she exited the water in second (25:38), then rode away from the field with the top split of 2:17:46, and closed with a 1:26:38 run to take the comfortable victory in 4:14:03.
Toronto’s Miranda Tomenson finished the swim in fourth (26:15), drifted back to sixth on the bike (2:22:36), then gained back those positions on the run (1:29:33) to finish in fourth (4:22:35).
