Subaru Western Triathlon Series is Heading to Saskatoon

The Subaru Saskatoon Triathlon will start at Pike Lake Provincial Park.

Saskatoon Sports Tourism, along with the Subaru Western Triathlon Series Team, is pleased to announce the exciting debut of the Subaru Saskatoon Triathlon.

This race will double as the Saskatchewan provincial triathlon championship, with one spot in each age division qualifying for the Canadian National Team that will compete at the world championships in 2014.

“The Saskatchewan Triathlon Association is excited and honored to partner with Saskatoon Sports Tourism and the Saskatoon Triathlon Club to bring the Subaru Western Triathlon Race Series to Saskatoon”, said CJ Katz, President of the Saskatchewan Triathlon Association Corporation. “The Subaru Western Triathlon Series is the premier triathlon series in Canada with an excellent reputation for putting on a first class race. It will draw triathletes from across the country to our province”.

“Moreover, this new race in the series will provide our provincial triathlon community a chance to participate in a top quality event in their own backyard”, Katz added.

The Subaru Saskatoon Triathlon will feature swimming at Pike Lake Provincial Park, followed by a bicycle ride into Saskatoon along scenic country roads. The final leg of the race will have participants running to the finish in the heart of downtown via the Meewasin Valley Trail.

The Subaru Western Triathlon Series features five exciting events hosted in beautiful locations across Canada’s west coast and Rocky Mountains and now in Saskatchewan. Athletes of all abilities – from first-timers to top elite athletes – are eligible to participate. The series features hundreds of amateur athletes from across Canada, as well as top professional Ironman and Olympic triathletes.

Registration coming soon; spots at this event are limited and it is expected to sell out quickly.
