Subaru has announced an extension of it’s long-standing sponsorship of Ironman events in Canada. The company first got involved with triathlon races in the early 1990s with the President’s Choice Triathlon Series, which is now the Subaru Ontario Triathlon Series. It became a sponsor of Ironman Canada in Penticton in 1996 and became the title sponsor of the event the following year. The company has been the title sponsor of Ironman Canada ever since, and has also served as the title sponsor of Ironman Mont-Tremblant since it debuted in 2012.

The new deal with Ironman is for Ironman “licensed and owned events in Canada for the 2021 and 2022 race season.” Subaru will be the title sponsor of the Ironman and Ironkids races in Mont-Tremblant, Penticton and Victoria.

“We are proud to renew our title sponsorship of IRONMAN events in Canada,” says SCI chairman, president and CEO Yasushi Enami. “By further extending the partnership, Subaru Canada continues to support and promote good health while remaining true to our core value of adventure.”

A separate deal sees Subaru continue as the title sponsor of Ironman 70.3 Muskoka, Iron Girl Grimsby and the Subaru Ontario Triathlon Series.

According to today’s release Subaru will also continue its sponsorship of the “Road to Kona award program”

This is also the fifth year that Subaru Canada will sponsor the Road to Kona award program. The company brings “a deserving athlete to the Island of Hawai`i to compete at the Ironman World Championship.” This year the program is being expanded “to allow for nominations from the thousands of amazing volunteers who contribute to the success of our events.” The program is open to registered athletes or volunteers at any Subaru Canada-sponsored Ironman event.
