Snowsill bows out of Mooloolaba

She hopes to be ready for Sydney.

Australia’s Emma Snowsill has withdrawn from the Elite Women’s race this Sunday at the ITU Mooloolaba World Cup.

According to information from the ITU, Snowsill has a minor foot injury (heel) that is affecting her run.

By playing it safe this weekend, she hopes to be fully healthy and ready to go at the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series kick off race in Sydney on April 10.

“It’s really a precautionary measure not to compete this weekend. Although I’m eager to race again I have to resist the temptation and think of the bigger picture,” said Snowsill to the ITU. “The complaint is a minor one with some inflammation in my heel. I made the decision not to race with my coach and physio to give my ankle the best chance to completely heal.”

Snowsill will still be in attendance to cheer on the power packed women’s field which includes Canadians Paula Findlay, Lauren Campbell, Kathy Tremblay, Kirsten Sweetland, and Kyla Coates.
