Rouvy and Challenge Family athletes raise $30,000 to support Turkey and Syria

Athletes complete virtual ride to support those affected by earthquakes

Over 8,700 Rouvy and Challenge Family athletes took part in a virtual ride through the virtual streets of Prague, Czech Republic, in order to raise money to support of those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. The athletes cycled a total of 76,308 km through Rouvy’s home town. The amount raised includes a donation by Rouvy and Challenge Family.

The money raised will be used by the Red Cross for medical supplies for the affected regions.

“It is a true testament to our sport to see thousands of cyclists and triathletes, together with our races, from all over the world come together to help those who have lost everything in the earthquakes and we are very grateful to everyone who took part,” said Challenge Family CEO, Jort Vlam. “Also a big thank you to Rouvy for making it possible and we are very happy to hand over a cheque to the Red Cross from both of us on behalf of all our athletes.”

“We are immensely proud of the Rouvy community who have come together to show their support for our initiative. This incredible show of solidarity has enabled us to make a meaningful contribution towards aiding the rebuilding efforts of Turkey and Syria, and we are touched by the capacity of our collective challenge to bring such positive change.” said Rouvy CEO, Petr Samek. “The interest and desire to help inspired us and Challenge Family to increase the total amount raised.”
