Course records for Ritchie Nicholls and Daniela Ryf in Wiesbaden.

Great Britain’s Ritchie Nicholls and Switzerland’s Daniela Ryf set new course records today at the Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Nicholls started the day with the 15th best swim, moved up the 9th after the bike, then ran a stunning 1:08:53 to separate himself from the rest of the field to take the win in 3:56:55.

Australia’s Annabel Luxford led the race right up until the 17 km mark of the run, at that point, Ryf took over and finished with a 1:21:25 half marathon to take the win in 4:31:34.
