French athletes topped the podium at the FISU World University Triathlon Championships held at Yilan County, Chinese Taipei.

Alexandra Cassan Ferrier swam 21:48, biked 1:06:00, and ran away from the field with the best run of 36:36 to earn the win in 2:06:32. Thomas André swam 20:19, biked 1:04:21, and he too ran the top split of 33:09 to win comfortably in 1:59:57.

Toronto’s Natalie Scadden, studying Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia, led the Canadian contingent with a 12th place finish (2:13:58).
