Results from The Canadian in Ottawa
Stephen Trull and Tiffany Boire win the Iron 226 titles.
American Stephen Trull and Stittsville’s Tiffany Boire won today’s Iron 226 race at The Canadian Multisport Day in Ottawa.
Woodstock’s Robert Bertrand, the defending champion, led the swim (1:09:55 – time includes the long run up from the water to T1), and stayed in front with a 5:17:37 ride. However, Trull closed the gap with a race best 5:10:59 ride on the flat multi-circuit course, and ran another race best 3:22:50 marathon to take the race win in 10:05:06. Bertrand finished second (10:21:42).
In the women’s race, Boire opened with a 1:27:03 swim, and stayed in front with a women’s best 5:34:11 ride, and ran 4:39:50 take the title in 11:46:04.

Bruno Sevigny of Dollard-Des-Orme (10:14:46) and Marie Wilson of Ajax (12:27:18) won the Iron 226 Duathlon (4 km run, 180 km bike, 42.2 km run). Sevigny led the whole way with a 19:03 run, 5:22:34 bike, and 4:29:54 run. Wilson trailed after her first run of 24:58, got the lead with a 7:06:15 ride, and secured the win with a 4:48:57 run.
