Results from Ironman 70.3 Vineman

Greg Bennett and Meredith Kessler win close races.

American’s Greg Bennett and Meredith Kessler took close victories at today’s Ironman 70.3 Vineman.

Bennett swam 21:58 to be in close proximity of six other men, but he rode away from most (2:06:57) to get within two seconds of Australian Paul Matthews as the two entered T2. From there Bennett ran 1:13:40 to get away from Matthews and the rest of the field to get the win (3:45:49).

Kessler started at the front with Leanda Cave and Amy Marsh after the swim (24:01), she and Marsh paced each other on the bike (2:21:07) ending the ride just three seconds apart. Kessler then ran away from Marsh to take the win in (4:10:15).
