O’Donnell and Williamson defend at Ironman 70.3 San Juan
Tisseyre gets fourth and Fletcher ninth in Puerto Rico.
Tim O’Donnell led the swim (23:42), lost the lead momentarily to Axel Zeebroek during the bike, but ran 1:17:17 to defend his Ironman 70.3 San Juan today in 3:51:32.
Fellow American Kelly Williamson, after exiting the water in fourth, steadily made her way through the field and ran the top half marathon of 1:20:13 to easily take the win in 4:14:06 and defend her title too. Canada’s Magali Tisseyre finished fourth (4:26:10), and Jenny Fletcher ninth (4:42:26).
Bonnie Grundman from North York, Ontario, placed third in the women 50-54 age category (5:39:31). While Toronto’s Deb Tuchner took fifth among women 45-49 (5:37:52).
