Powerman Zofingen Wrap-up

Vansteelant and Burke win ITU World Duathlon titles.

Belgium’s Joerie Vansteelant and New Zealand’s Melanie Burke took home the 2011 ITU Long Distance Duathlon World Championships at Powerman Zofingen in Switzerland.

Vansteelant covered the 10 km run, 150 km bike, and 30 km run distances in a course record 6:07:15. He ran 31:11, dominated the bike 3:41:11 (close to 10 minutes faster than anyone else), finished with a 1:51:55 run to claim the 23rd edition of Powerman Zofingen and his third Long Distance title. France’s Thibaut Humbert took second (6:16:58) by outrunning Switzerland’s Andy Sutz (6:18.28).
