Podcast: Kevin and Barrie Recap the Pan Am women’s race

Triathlon Magazine Canada senior editor and Barrie Shepley, the race announcer at today’s Pan Am Games, recap the women’s triathlon, won by Chile’s Barbara Riveros.

After leading out of the water alongside Bermuda’s Flora Duffy, American Sarah Haskins literally waited almost 30 seconds in T1 for her American team mates, which certainly cost her a medal and might very well have cost the US a spot on the podium. Barrie and Kevin discuss how much of a factor that tactical move meant to the race, which was won thanks to a dominating 10 km run by Chile’s Riveros, who moved up a spot on the podium from the silver she won four years ago.
