Peterborough Half Iron Results
Imrie and Allan win.
Andrew Imrie of Toronto and Paolina Allan of Aurora took home wins at the Peterborough Half Iron Triathlon.
Imrie earned his spot on the top of the podium by surpassing Toronto’s Glen Flint with a race best 1:19:00 half marathon to cross the finish line in 4:17:18. Flint followed with a time of 4:22:08, and then Caledon’s Lionel Sanders in third (4:24:40).
Allan’s victory went much like her win at the Welland Half Iron. She trailed after the swim, led this time by Oakville’s Jennifer Amaral (29:20), and then established a lead on the bike (2:34:55) that would never be in jeopardy. She stopped the clock at 4:50:54, Amaral held on for second (4:55:49), and Toronto’s Katie Snowden posted the third best overall run (1:26:13) to claim third (5:09:01).
