Ospaly and Haskins defend at the St. Anthony’s Triathlon

Prince George's Angela Naeth cycles her way to sixth.

Filip Ospaly of the Czech Republic and Sarah Haskins of the United States, defended their titles today at the St. Anthony’s Triathon in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Haskins earned her fourth consecutive win with a 19:13 swim (just three seconds behind swim leader Sara McLarty of the USA), then biked 1:00:22 where American Alicia Kaye caught up with the top ride of 58:44, but easily ran away from Kaye with a 35:51 run to cross the line in 1:56:55. Kaye held firm for second (1:59:16), and Great Britain’s Jody Stimpson came in third (1:59:37). Prince George’s Angela Naeth had the second best bike split (58:48) but surrendered too much time after the swim and finished sixth (2:00:19).

Ospaly swam 18:17, biked 54:53, but did the damage with a 31:07 10 km run for the win in 1:45:50. Americans Ben Collins took second (1:45:59) and Timothy O’Donnell third (1:46:04).
