New Not UCI-Legal Shiv

For 2012, Specialized is releasing a new Shiv that will incorporate a not UCI-legal 4:1 aspect ratio and a built-in hydration bladder. Specialized claims that these radical frame changes together create the most aerodynamic bike they have ever built as well as allowing the Shiv to be more aero than any other bike on the market with a bottle. While the wind-cheating benefits will be enough reason for many riders to consider purchasing the new Shiv, the added benefit of simplified hydration and fuelling while in the aero position (no more reaching for a water bottle) will likely sway any remaining holdouts.

In an industry that constantly proclaims any minor aesthetic product-update as an innovation, the new Shiv is a real game changer.

Could this be Craig Alexander’s new bike?
