Montreal returns to WTCS schedule

Montreal will once again host a World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) event in 2023. Last year Montreal hosted the World Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships. This year the city will host a sprint and mixed relay event on June 24 and 25.

The top tier of the World Triathlon events, the WTCS races offer the most Olympic qualifying points for athletes, which means the race in Montreal is likely to host a strong field of athletes looking to compete at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Montreal will also host a Para Series event on July 8 and 9.

Some other highlights from today’s announcement from World Triathlon:

  • Hamburg will host this year’s Sprint and Relay World Championships
  • The Paris 2024 Test Event will take place Aug. 17 to 20
  • The Multisport World Championships take place in Ibiza, Spain April 29 to May 7.
  • Zofingen will host the Long Distance Duathlon Championships on Sept. 3
  • The WTCS Championship final will take place Sept. 22 to 24
