Middaugh and Duffy win Xterra World Championship

Josiah Middaugh took the win in a time of 2:35:32 in Kapalua, Maui on Sunday, besting his silver medal performance from 2014 where he finished behind Ruben Ruzafa. Two-time Olympian and defending champion Flora Duffy of Bermuda led from wire to wire to grab her second world title in 2:54:18 ahead of second place Lesley Paterson.

Three Age Group Canadians podiumed in Maui including Calgary’s Calvin Zaryski who won the men’s 45-49 category. Katherine Wilson of North Vancouver was second in the women’s 25-29 category and Rebecca Andrews was third in the women’s 20-24 category.
