Magali Tisseyre wins Ironman 70.3 Muncie

Victoria’s Magali Tisseyre dominated the women’s race today at the 34th edition of Ironman 70.3 Muncie.
Third out of the water in 26:01 (just 6 second behind American Anna Cleaver), Tisseyre quickly asserted herself on the bike and rode 2:17:26 to take a 6:09 lead unto the run. She finished with a 1:25:42 half marathon to finish in 4:12:59 and win by 9:54. Fellow Canadians Brooke Brown and Donna Phelan finished 9th and 11th respectively.

American Andrew Starykowicz controlled the men’s race from start to finish. He swam 24:25, biked 2:00:55 – both the fastest splits of the day, then cruised in with a 1:17:46 run to take the victory in 3:46:25. Canada’s Josh Seifarth finished 12th.
