The fast flying young pro was our feature story in the latest issue of TMC and every time he races, Lionel Sanders is proving more and more of a threat to his competitors. Today he claimed his second Ironman 70.3 victory in Muncie, Indiana in a time of 3:42:48. Sanders managed to swim with the chase pack,  but was almost three minutes behind swim leader and eventual second place finisher Josh Amberger. Still, with his second fastest bike split of the day (2:02), and fastest run of 1:10, Sanders beat out Amberger with a comfortable lead of almost four minutes. Sanders is known for his blazing run which was almost five minutes faster than any of his competitors. Andrew Starykowicz was third in 3:47:25.

On the women’s side, Ashley Clifford blew away the field in 4:16:21. Her race fastest run of 1:24 for 21.1 km put her over 12 minutes  ahead of second place Hallie Blunk. Blunk and Beth Shutt battled it out for second and third respectively with almost identical splits, eventually coming down to a mere 20 seconds differential with Blunk in 4:28:25 and Shutt in 4:28:44.
