Pierre Lavoie of La Baie, Quebec, was the fastest Canadian at Ford Ironman Wisconsin. The forty-six year old clocked a time of 9:37:51, finishing second in the men’s 45-49 category. There were several other podium appearances. Earning second place finishes were Martin Rouillard (M 40-44) – 9:42:32 and Jennifer Eberman (W 35-39) – 10:51:35. In third, Samuel Badeau (M 35-39) – 9:45:54, Tanya Porcellato (W 35-39) – 10:52:24, Kathie Chezick (W 50-54) – 11:59:13 and Adam Dunn was fifth (9:55:32) among men 30-34. South Africa’s Raynard Tissink ran the fastest marathon (3:00:50) despite headaches, dehydration, and vomiting to win the men’s race (8:45:19). Texan Amy Marsh used the top women’s bike split (5:13) to cruise to her first career Ironman title (9:43:59).
