Kona Dispatch: Path 5 and 10K and Lava Java!
On day two of Ironman week in Kona, the annual Path 5 km and 10 km run takes place.
Path stands for “People Advocacy for Trail Hawaii,” a bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization. PATH’s mission is to safely connect residents and visitors to the many special places on Hawaii Islands through pathways and bikeways. Funds raised from the race also support bike safety courses for school-aged kids on the Big Island as well as hiking path maintenance.
Over 500 participants took to Alii Drive at 7:30AM on Sunday Oct 6th. After the race many participants lined up at the famous Lava Java to sample the even more famous giant cinnamon buns.
