Kaye and Matthews win 5150 Washington DC

Hoogland gets 6th, Jeffrey and Bechtel place 13th.

Australia’s Paul Matthews used the top bike split of 55:43 to take the overall win (1:49:58) at the 5150 Washington DC Olympic Distance Triathlon today. On the women’s side, American Alicia Kaye posted solid splits in all three segments to come out on top with the inaugural 5150 title in Washington.

Ottawa’s Tenille Hoogland exited the water within the top five, continued to keep pace with the other frontrunners during the bike, but was unable to gain any further ground during the run and placed sixth (2:05:05). Two more Ontarians, Christine Jeffrey (2:09:07), and Sean Bechtel (1:56:04) both finished in 13th position.
