ITU Mazatlan Pan American Cup Results

Bryden gets eighth.

Calgary’s Jordan Bryden raced near the front but fell off the pace during the run to place eighth at the ITU’s Pan American Cup race in Mazatlan, Mexico this past weekend. Dutchman Jan Van Berkel took the win.

“The race was a blast and is one of my ‘tune up races’ before getting into some fully tapered focused races later in the season, said Bryden to Triathlon Magazine Canada. “I have only been with my new coach (Tim Crowley) 5 months now, so we are working on peaking later in the season than I have before.”

Bermuda’s Flora Duffy broke away on the bike and her lead allowed her to complete the run in top spot. Canada’s Madi Serpico, a Junior Elite Development Triathlete, had a DNF. Read her interesting race report here.
