ITU launches fundraising campaign for Nepalese Earthquake victims

Nepal_Earthquake_2015_01The ITU and the Nepal Triathlon Association launched the Triathlon Family Nepalese Earthquake Emergency Fundraising Campaign on May 1. The campaign is a one-month solidarity effort to raise funds for the people of Nepal. Marisol Casado, the ITU President and IOC Member has put out the following call to arms:

Our goal is to raise emergency funds for immediate aid relief for the people of Nepal affected by the devastating earthquake. All funds will be used to provide immediate needs such as food, water, shelter and medical supplies.

During the month of May, ITU will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds that it receives from TriathlonLIVE.tv directly to the fund.

There are a number of ways you can help.
• You could direct your participants to our donations page that we have set up: donate.triathlon.org All donations will go directly to the fund for relief efforts. Please note that the ITU is not a registered charity so tax receipts cannot be issued at this time.

• If your event already has a charity partner you could direct your participants and fans to sign up for the TriathlonLIVE portal in May. As noted, ITU will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds it receives directly to the fund.

• Your organisation can make a donation directly to the fund.
