ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships
Saturday in Spain. McQuaid & Jeffrey to race.
In El Anillo, Spain this coming Saturday, athletes will take part in the first ever ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships.
Elites, U23’s, Age Grouper and Para Triathletes will swim 1 km, mountain bike 20 km, and cross country run 6 km. Junior athletes will race half the distance in all segments.
Some of the triathlon’s biggest names will take part: Ivan Rana, Oliver Marceau, Conrad Stoltz, Eneko Llanos, Pavel Andreev, Carina Wasle, and Marion Lorblanchet.
Canada will be represented by Melanie McQuaid and Christine Jeffrey. Both are coming off two outstanding races (McQuaid – two wins, Jeffrey – two third place finishes) on the XTERRA circuit.
