ITU brings Triathlon to Cuba

Cuba will play host to the 2015 Habana ITU Long Distance Triathlon Series Event and Iberoamerican Championships on January 24-25, 2015. The Cuban Triathlon Federation and the Local Organizing Committee will also hold a Sprint and Middle Distance Race in addition to the Long Distance race.

The race will take place in Havana with its stunning locale and a perfect climate. The weekend will also honour the Cuban national icon José Martí, the “Apostle of Cuban Independence.” There will be much to celebrate that weekend.

The swim starts from Marina Hemingway where crowds will line the canal. Transition will be situated beside the marina. The bike course, regardless of distance, will have enough undulations to make it interesting and the run course will lead the athletes through the city to a finish line in the heart of the Cuban soul, Plaza de la Revolución.
