According to La Presse, on this coming Monday there will be a press conference at Casino de Mont-Tremblant to announce the second official Ironman race in Canada – at Mont-Tremblant.
According to reports, the Mayor of Mont-Tremblant, Pierre Pilon, will be at the press conference, along with Michelle Courchesne, honorary co-chair of the event and Minister responsible for the Laurentides region, suggesting a financial contribution from the Government of Quebec. Pierre Lavoie, three-time age group winner at Ironman Hawaii, will also be an honorary chairman.
It is expected that Ironman Mont-Tremblant will take place in August (inaugural race in 2012), the same month as the Canada’s other Ironman race (Ironman Canada) in Penticton, British Columbia.
Stay tuned for an official announcement.
